Kevin Smith Vs The Critics
Last Night Kevin Smith premiered RED STATE and it received mixed fair. He was universally panned by scorned critics. Not because the movie is bad. The critics are scorned because he decided to self-distribute the film instead of auctioning it off. One review in particular comes to mind. Drew Mcweeny’s Review from hitflix.com came off a little to bitchy. He was very winy and came off as a ex-girlfriend who was cheated on. It was pretty sad and pathetic. I wish he would not seem so bitchy in his review. It’s critics like him especially from the Austin Texas area. I hate reading movie reviews in general because they come off as miserable pretentious assholes. that is the sad truth. To me it is a mockery to the good honest reviews because people can not relate to them.
i think that they need to get their heads out of their butts and stop beating this man down. Just because he made a few films they didn’t like does not mean they have to beat this man down. Kevin Smith just wants to do independent work from now on. Is that to hard? Critics especially from the Austin Area have just been repeatedly beating this man down because he made two films that they didn’t like. Come on just move on. He didn’t even write Cop Out, he just directed it. Austin Critics are just sounding like miserable old cunts. Scratch your ass and get glad. The man doesn’t want to make movies for you anymore. Grow up He did.
